A 30-year-old man, who London police allege tried to make his getaway on a Greyhound bus, has been charged in connection to Wednesday's downtown bank robbery.
Police were called to the Bank of Montreal at 270 Dundas St. around 9:50am after a man demanded money from one of the bank employees. The man, wearing a jacket with the hood pulled up over his head, dark sunglasses, and gloves, then took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The employee was not physically hurt and no weapon was seen.
Police were about to identify the suspect and began searching the downtown for him. Roughly three hours after the robbery, a suspect was arrested at the Greyhound Bus station.
Javid Hosein Soltani, of no fixed address, is charged with robbery with threats of violence and wearing a disguise. He is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges Thursday.
