Town Of Lucan Wins 2018 Kraft Hockeyville Contest

A town just north of London will be getting some major arena upgrades after winning this year's Kraft Hockeyville contest.

It was announced Saturday night that Lucan, Ontario received the highest number of votes out of all the finalists and has won Kraft Hockeyville 2018.

Kraft Hockeyville is an annual competition sponsored by Kraft Foods, the National Hockey League, and the NHL Players' Association.

According to the contest's website, the town will host an NHL® Pre-Season Game and has secured $250,000 in upgrades for the Lucan Community Memorial Centre.

On March 18, Lucan was named one of four Canadian communities on the contest's short list.

The three runner-ups include High River in Alberta, Lafleche in Saskatchewan, and Huntingdon in Quebec. Each finalist will receive $25,000 each in arena upgrades.
