A London man faces charges after a woman was threatened with broken glass and had her car stolen.
Police say, around 4:30pm Monday, the 42-year-old woman was walking to her car in a parking garage on Dufferin Ave. near Richmond St. A man came up to her, threatened her with a piece of broken glass, and stole her purse and vehicle. Police say the victim wasn't hurt.
Several calls were made to 911 about the stolen vehicle being driven erratically. Around 5pm, an officer spotted the vehicle stopped in the middle of North Centre Rd. just north of Fanshawe Park Rd. According to police, the driver started to reverse slowly and ignored the officer's demand to stop and get out of the vehicle. The officer then smashed the window and arrested the driver.
A 21-year-old London man is charged with armed robbery, impaired driving, theft of a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.
