London police allege a 27-year-old Port Severn man was driving drunk when he backed into a convenience store, causing $30,000 damage on Sunday.
Several 911 calls were made to police about an erratic driver in a parking lot at 71 York St., near Ridout St. around 9:15am.
Witnesses spotted a Chrysler 300 sedan make at least two 360-degree turns in the parking lot before leaving. The vehicle returned a short time later, hit a parked vehicle and then backed into the convenience store before taking off again.
The vehicle was then spotted travelling the wrong way down Grey St. Officers found the vehicle in a parking lot at Adelaide St. North and Trafalgar St. and arrested the driver.
A 27-year-old man is charged with impaired driving offences, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a Schedule II substance.
He will appear in London court to answer to the charges on April 25.
