London Man Charged In Standoff

London police say a man has been charged following a standoff in the city's north end.

Police say on Saturday, a concerned family member contacted the London Police Service about a man who had been acting increasingly erratic in the past few days.

According to police, the man accessed his firearms that morning, which caused his family members a great deal of concern.

The London Police Service Emergency Response Unit, Canine Unit, crisis negotiators, and numerous other officers were sent to an address on Talbot St.

After a couple of hours of negotiations, police say the man left the residence and was taken into custody peacefully.

A 29-year-old London man was charged with one firearms-related offence.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com
