Pot Shop Busted Again

For a second time, London police have seized products from a Richmond Row marijuana dispensary.

Police announced Thursday morning that an investigation focusing on the London Relief Centre that began on November 29 has led to a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking against a 27-year-old Mississauga man.

The charge was laid after police seized $16,000 in Canadian currency and $2,000 worth of marijuana-infused edibles.

The London Relief Centre, located at 691 Richmond St., opened in September and does not require customers to have a medical marijuana prescription. It does require customers to be at least 19 years of age.

The dispensary was raided by London police on September 20. Police seized 4,211.5g of marijuana bud, 35g of hash oil, 40g of shatter, and a variety of THC infused products. Police estimated the value of the products at nearly $50,000. Computer equipment, an ATM, and approximately $15,000 in cash were also seized by police.

Five people were charged.

“Trafficking marijuana is still against the law and while it is illegal in Canada, we will be enforcing those laws,” said Constable Sandasha Bough on the day of the first raid.
