Provincial police say a 55-year-old London man has been charged with voyeurism and committing an indecent act after an incident near an Ingersoll elementary school.
Oxford OPP were called about a suspicious man near Harrisfield Public School on Caffyn St. around 12:05pm on October 24. When officers arrived the man was gone but they were able to get descriptions of him and a vehicle from witnesses. Harrisfield Public officials also told police the man did not approach or speak to any of the school children.
A man, matching the description provided by witnesses, was arrested without incident last Friday. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Citing the on-going investigation, police would not elaborate on the specifics of what the man was allegedly seen doing outside of the school.
"We will not be clarifying those details due to the evidentiary nature of it," said Constable Stacey Culbert.
Police are now reassuring the public the male suspect acted alone and there is no threat to public safety.
