A former treasurer of the parent council at an Elgin County elementary school is now accused of stealing from the council's funds.
Elgin OPP say they were alerted in July by the school council at New Sarum Public School that there were discrepancies in the funds controlled by the council. An investigation was launched that has led to charges against Tracy Arthur, 42, of Aylmer.
She is charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of theft under $5,000.
Arthur appeared in court in St. Thomas on Tuesday and was released with a future court date.
