Elgin OPP say they got a call about an erratic driver in a Ford Mustang in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Dutton around 3:30pm Thursday. An officer clocked the Mustang at more than 200 km/h near Iona Rd.
After pulling the driver over, the officer determined he had been drinking.
A 23-year-old Dutton man is now charged with drunk driving, dangerous driving, and stunt driving.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
