St. Thomas police are investigating after a dead dog was found inside a box at a local park.
The gruesome discovery was made by a hiker on the north pathway to Hiawatha St. in Athletic Park around 3pm Wednesday.
Police say the hiker called police after noticing the box, which was giving off a foul odour.
The dog is believed to have been a mid-sized, light coloured breed, however officers don't know for certain as the remains were quite decomposed.
