OPP Marine Unit (BlackburnNews.com file photo)Norfolk OPP are investigating after a body was found in Lake Erie near Pottahawk Point.
Police were called just after 2pm Monday when a boater found the body in the water. The Norfolk County OPP Marine Unit, with help from the Coast Guard, responded to the scene and recovered the body of a male.
An autopsy was to be done on Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
Police say the investigation is still in its early stages.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
