Jebi Tamang was located safely, London police tweeted on Thursday. The 69-year-old man hadn't been seen since Tuesday afternoon, raising concerns from family for his welfare.
Police are thanking the public for their help in finding Tamang.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
