Realtors in London and St. Thomas continued a strong year for sales with their best August in over ten year.
The London and St Thomas Association of Realtors (LSTAR) says despite a slight dip in sales compared to last year, last month was the best August for sales since 2005, with a total of 892 homes exchanging hands.
"Overall, 2017 remains an incredible year for real estate across London and St. Thomas and we expect sales activity to stay fairly strong for the remainder of 2017," said LSTAR President Jim Smith in a news release.
LSTAR says in August, a total of 712 detached homes were sold, which is a decrease of 11.4% from the previous year. Condominium sales were down only 7.7% from 2016, with 180 units sold. And there was total of 1,157 listings, down 9.3% from the same time in 2016.
The average sales price across London and St. Thomas was $326,122, which is down 1.4% from the previous month. The best-selling house style in August in continues to be the two-storey, followed by the bungalow, according to LSTAR.
