Lightning Name New Coach

The London Lightning have introduced Keith Vassell as the team's new head coach.

The now-former head coach of the Niagara College men's basketball team replaces Kyle Julius, who left the team after leading it to the NBLC championship.

“This is an opportunity of a life time, to be a part of the London Lightning and the NBL,” says Vassell.

Vassell played professionally for 11 years in Spain, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Portugal. He also has extensive experience with Canada's National Team. He was a member from 1989 to 2000 where he competed in Olympic qualifying tournaments, the 1999 Pan-Am Games, and the World Junior Basketball Championships.

“Keith has a remarkable pedigree in Canada basketball and we are excited for him to continue that success here at the London Lightning,” says Lightning owner and General Manager Vito Frijia.
