Man Charged After Walmart Bomb Scare

A 30-year-old Beachville man is charged after a bomb scare Thursday at the Woodstock Walmart.

Woodstock police received a call from a man claiming he had a bomb at the south-end store around 11:40am. The man hung up when police asked him his name.

It's unknown how many people were inside Walmart at the time but officers evacuated the store as a safety precaution.

A man, who was still inside, was arrested without incident. Police say he was not in possession of an explosive device.

The unidentified man is charged with public mischief. He will appear in court October 3.
