What is Open And Closed On Monday

The August long weekend is sure to be a busy one on the roads as people head for cottages, campgrounds, and beaches. But for those staying in the city there are some closures to be aware of.

Celebrated each year on the first Monday in August, the Civic Holiday comes with a bit of confusion as it is not actually a statutory holiday. That means many retail workers will be on the job, while government employees will have the day off.

For those who are off and looking to run some errands, here is a list of what’s open and what's closed in London on the Civic Holiday:

CLOSED:

  • Government offices (municipal, provincial, and federal)
  • Canada Post (no mail delivery)
  • Banks
  • All London Public Library branches (inlcuding the Central Library)
  • No garbage and recycling collection
OPEN:
  • White Oaks Mall (9:30am-6pm), Masonville Place (10am-5pm), and Westmount Shopping Centre (9:30am-5:30pm)
  • Select LCBO outlets
  • Most Beer Stores - 11am-6pm
  • Labatt Retail Store on Richmond St.
