OPP Seeks Missing Drone

Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public's help in locating a drone that went missing Wednesday.

OPP in Elgin County say a technician was conducting a test flight of an unmanned aerial system (UAS) in a remote area of Southwold Twp in Elgin County. Around 2pm, police say, the device malfunctioned and the technician lost visual contact with it as well as all communication.

The drone had just undergone a software update. The device pictured is similar to the one that went missing.

The OPP is conducting a search of the area where the UAS was last seen. Anybody who may have seen the device or located it in the area is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
