Baby Left In Hot Car

Provincial police are once again reminding people to never leave children alone in vehicles, especially during periods of warm weather.

Norfolk OPP were called to a Canadian Tire parking lot in Simcoe on Friday afternoon, after a passerby noticed an infant was left alone in a vehicle while the parent was inside a store.

Police responded to the scene, but the vehicle was already gone. No licence plate information was obtained by witnesses.

"The OPP want to remind all parents or caregivers that at no time during the year should any child be left alone in a vehicle, no matter how quickly you think that errand will be. Leaving a child unattended in a vehicle goes beyond the weather conditions and the safety and well-being of a child should always be the top priority," says Constable Ed Sanchuk.
