UPDATE: Dump Truck-SUV Crash Kills One

OPP have released the identity of a woman who was killed in a crash involving a dump truck in Oxford County.

Police say 60-year-old Lynn Henderson from Oakville died after her eastbound SUV collided with a northbound dump truck at the intersection of Road 74 and the 31st Line in Zorra Township around 1:40pm on Monday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name and age have not been released. The male driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Oxford OPP continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash, including whether one of the vehicles failed to stop for a stop sign.

"It is a controlled intersection east and west with stop signs. It is early in the investigation but it appears as though it could potentially be a fail to yield situation," said Constable Stacey Culbert. "Right of way traffic would be going north and southbound and then there is a controlled intersection with stop signs east and westbound."

Road 74 is closed between the 29th Line and the 33rd Line and the 31st Line is closed between Road 68 and Road 78. Police anticipate the intersection will be closed for several hours as crews work to repair a hydro pole damaged in the crash.

The crash happened roughly 20 minutes after a fatal crash on Dorchester Rd. in neighbouring Middlesex County. A woman was killed when a three-wheeled motorcycle and transport truck collided. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital in critical condition.
