International students are giving Fanshawe College top marks.
Fanshawe was ranked number one in the province and number two in the world for student satisfaction with their overall learning experience in the 2016 i-graduate International Student Barometer (ISB) survey. This is the seventh consecutive year Fanshawe has landed at the top of the survey.
"This survey illustrates yet again that international students are some of our best ambassadors," said Wendy Curtis, executive director of the International Centre at Fanshawe College. "Our enrollment continues to climb, with 1,500 international students starting this past January, for a total of 3,500 international students at Fanshawe from more than 70 countries."
International students were asked to rate their satisfaction in their colleges through more than 70 different broad categories related to learning, arrival services, support services, and college life. More than 159,000 students from 182 institutions worldwide, including 11 Ontario colleges, took part in the survey last fall.
Overall, Fanshawe beat out 174 other post-secondary institutions to place eighth in the world for serving and satisfying its growing population of international students. It also ranked highly in satisfaction in campus environment, employability outcomes, and student services.
At the start of the year, Fanshawe enhanced its arrival and settlement services and expanded its peer-to-peer program which pairs local students with international students. It's the second time since 2015 the college has taken steps to help students relocating from outside of Canada get better acquainted with their new environment.

Year after year, these promising results show that our faculty and staff are doing a great job meeting their needs."
