It won't be long before London drivers will be under the watchful eyes of red light cameras.
The cameras, which take pictures of drivers that run red lights, are being installed across the city. The ten cameras will be set up at some of the city's most collision prone intersections and are expected to be operational next month.
According to the city of London's website, about 280 crashes each year are the result of drivers running red lights.
Drivers who are nabbed by the red light cameras will be mailed a $325 ticket.
The city says cameras will be installed at the following intersections:
- Commissioners Rd at Wellington Rd.
- Dundas St. at Clarke Rd.
- Exeter Rd. at Wharncliffe Rd.
- Huron St. at Highbury Ave.
- Oxford St. at Wonderland Rd.
- Oxford St. at Adelaide St.
- Queens Ave. at Adelaide St.
- Queens Ave. at Talbot St.
- Springbank Dr. at Wonderland Rd.
- Windermere Rd. at Richmond St.
