London Hydro says close to 50 customers in south London are likely to be without power until Friday morning after several poles were brought down.
Five hydro poles came down Thursday on Bessemer Rd. near Exeter Rd. Initially, power was knocked out for 850 customers in an area east of Wellington Rd. between Exeter Rd. and Bradley Ave.
London Hydro spokesperson Nancy Hutton said crews on the scene were able to get that number down to 230 by 1pm. However, it's expected 49 customers may have to wait until Friday morning to get their electricity back.
Hutton says they are still investigating what caused the poles to come down.
