London's Children's Hospital will be able to buy some new equipment thanks to the generosity of local LCBO employees and customers.
Throughout the month of December, the LCBO raised $293,397 through its 2016 Giving Back campaign, which saw customers donate at the check-out.
The funds were presented to the Children's Health Foundation for the hospital on Friday.
“We are grateful to our regional supporters who fully embraced the spirit of giving during the holidays to benefit children and their families in their time of need. LCBO is a truly valued community leader and we are especially proud of the hard work and dedication of the LCBO employees who, this year, helped raise significant funds for children’s health,” said Sherri Bocchini, chief development officer at Children’s Health Foundation.
The money will be used to help to purchase specialized equipment for Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, such as a transport incubator and a Giraffe OmniBed.
The Impaired Minds Produce Actions Causing Trauma Program also benefited from the December campaign.
