One person is dead and another is in hospital after a crash just outside Tavistock.
Oxford OPP were called to Hwy. 59 at Maplewood Sideroad just after 8am Friday. Two vehicles had collided, killing one of the drivers.
The woman's name has not yet been released. The other driver, a man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Oxford OPP Constable Stacey Culbert says it's not clear yet what caused the vehicles to collide.
"We do have some passersby that stopped after the crash, but we don't have any witnesses to the crash that have come forward yet," she says.
She adds it's not clear if weather was a factor.
"Oxford County was certainly blanketed with fog this morning, but the cause of the collision remains under investigation," Culbert says.
Hwy. 59 was closed between Maplewood Sideroad and Cassel Sideroad for several hours before reopening around 2:30pm.
