One Injured In Apartment Fire

One person has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a London apartment.

The London Fire Department said on Tuesday around 1:56am, firefighters arrived at the two storey home at 456 Horton St., to discover heavy smoke and flames in the rear apartment unit. Fire crews were able to quickly get the blaze under control.

One male occupant was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns to his hands and face.

Fire officials said the cause of the blaze is unknown at this time and an investigator has attended the the scene.

Damage is estimated at around $40,000.
