Ride The Bus For Free New Year's Eve

Revellers venturing out on New Year's Eve have a free option to get them to and from celebrations.

London Transit has announced it is once again ending the year by offering free bus rides for everyone between 8pm Saturday and 1am Sunday. Bus routes that normally end at midnight are being extended by one hour.

The free rides apply to both conventional and specialized transit.

The move, meant to ensure Londoners have a safe alternative to drinking and driving, comes a week after the city announced free parking in municipal lots between midnight and 1pm New Year’s Day.

The two initiatives allow party goers to leave their vehicle in a municipal lot and take the bus home with no financial repercussions.

Throughout the downtown, Richmond Row and Old East there are 19 municipal lots of varying sizes with a combined total of 1,500 parking spaces available.

A special New Year’s Eve bus schedule is available online at www.ltconline.ca.
