London police have made an arrest after a person was spotted with a gun outside of the Wheable Adult Education Centre on Wednesday.
London police were called to the school on Jacqueline St. just after 11:30am by a citizen who reported seeing a man outside of the facility carrying a handgun.
"Citizens heard sounds that they believed were the sounds of gunshots or a gunshot and the school was placed on lockdown," said Constable Sandasha Bough.
Members of the police tactical unit and K9 unit searched the area on foot. Several roads around the school were blocked as a precaution.
Roughly two hours after the investigation began, police announced they had arrested a male youth and recovered an imitation firearm.
No one was hurt during the incident. The lockdown at Wheable was lifted following the arrest.
The teen remains in police custody and charges are pending.
