Finger Eleven To Headline NYE Bash

Juno award winning rock band Finger Eleven will help Londoners ring in 2017.

The Canadian quartet was announced on Tuesday as the headliner for this year's Rockin' New Year's Eve celebration at Victoria Park.

Formed in 1990, the band from Burlington, has released five studio albums including Juno Award Rock Album of the Year; Them vs. You vs. Me.

Festivities in the downtown park will kick off at 8pm with local children's performer Glee London. That will be followed by a fireworks display for the kids at 9pm.

New this year, the Rockin' New Year's Eve committee has launched a contest to find two London artists who will win the chance to open for Finger Eleven following the children's fireworks display. Entries are being accepted for the contest until the end of the month. The top ten acts will be unveiled on December 1. Londoners will then have a chance to vote for their favourite with the winners being announced on December 9.

The two winning acts will warm up the crowd for Finger Eleven on December 31.

As always, the New Year's Eve bash wraps up with a fireworks display from the rooftop of city hall at the stroke of midnight.
