Two More Charged In Grocery Store, Gas Bar Robberies

London police say two more men have been charged after a robbery at a gas station and an attempted robbery at a grocery store.

The incident at the grocery store saw bystanders tackle a would-be robber to the ground and wrestle a replica handgun from him.

According to police, on Wednesday at 5:35pm, a man armed with what turned out to be a pellet gun robbed the Petro-Canada gas bar at 614 Fanshawe Park Rd. E. Then, around 7pm, police allege the same man tried to rob the Freshco on Commissioners Rd. E. That's when a suspect was grabbed by shoppers and held until police arrived.

A 44-year-old man faces several charges.

On Thursday, police took two other men into custody. Constable Sandasha Bough says the men were arrested after a high-risk vehicle stop at Adelaide St. and Pall Mall St. Police announced on Friday afternoon that a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old man are facing charges in connection with the incidents at PetroCanada and Freshco.

The men are charged with armed robbed and robbery assault with intent to steal.

Police are still investigating and are asking anyone with any information to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
