Comic book lovers, cosplay enthusiasts, and pop culture fans turned out in droves to set a new attendance record for London Comic Con.
Organizers say the three-day event brought 10,000 people through the doors of the Western Fair District Progress building last weekend. That's up from 7,500 last year.
"We are truly grateful that we were able to grow the event this year both in attendance, celebrity appearances, and the amount of vendors and entertainment available for fans," says Andrew Kitt, co-organizer of London Comic Con. "We reached our attendance goal and sold out the show floor with vendors and exhibitors."
This was the third edition of London Comic Con. It offered more than 150 vendors and interactive fan zones.
Kevin Sorbo (Hercules from The Legendary Journeys), LeVar Burton (Star Trek, Reading Rainbow), Alan Thicke (Growing Pains), Lori Petty (Orange is the New Black, Point Break), and Mark Boone Jr (Sons of Anarchy) were among the celebrities to appear at the show.
To accommodate its growing popularity, Comic Con will move to the more spacious Metroland Media Agriplex next year. As a result of the change of venue, the date for the pop culture extravaganza has been pushed back to October 13, 14, and 15, 2017.
