Overnight Parking Passes Available Monday

Overnight street parking may be coming to an end on Labour Day but Londoners will still have a way to legally park on city streets during the late night and early morning hours.

The city will begin granting overnight parking passes September 5.

Motorists will be able to snag a pass by registering their vehicle at www.london.ca, by phoning 519-661-4537 or in person at the Parking Services Office at 824 Dundas St. A maximum of 15 free passes can be issued per vehicle and passes for multiple days and vehicles can be obtained with one submission.

Due to the possibility of severe weather, passes will not be issued more than 48 hours in advance between November 1 to April 15. The city also has the option to revoke a pass to allow for road clearing during the winter.

“Drivers are reminded that all other parking restrictions remain in effect, including prohibited parking and stopping areas, fire routes, and the requirement to remove all vehicles from the street during snow clearing operations,” says Annette Drost, Manager, Municipal Law Enforcement Services with the city.

Passes will be available until Victoria Day, after which overnight parking restrictions are lifted for the summer.
