The Canada Post building in Tillsonburg had to be evacuated after several employees reported having unknown medical symptoms.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 12:37pm, police, EMS and firefighters responded to the building at 54 Brock St. E, after the employees reported having the symptoms.

All eight employees left the building and were ultimately cleared by EMS at the scene. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police say there is no public safety threat at this time, but the building and surrounding area remain closed while officers conduct an investigation. The OPP Urban Search and Rescue, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive Response Team has also been called out to the scene.

The roads in the area were closed for several hours, but have since been reopened.
