Provincial police say a crash that destroyed a Delaware garage and damaged gas pumps and a parked vehicle may have been caused by a driver swerving to miss a deer.
The single-vehicle crash happened on Longwoods Rd., near Gideon Dr. in Delaware around 1:22am Friday.
Middlesex OPP say a red SUV was heading east on Longwoods Rd. when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The vehicle veered across the westbound lanes and hit the curb before crashing into the gas pumps and a security barrier of a nearby gas station. It continued on, slamming into a two-car garage and a parked vehicle.
Two vehicles inside the garage and the SUV were demolished in the crash.
The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police say a 38-year-old London woman is charged with careless driving.
