Two people have been charged after a stolen vehicle crashed into a corn field in Adelaide Metcalfe.
The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 1:16pm, a GMC pickup was traveling south on Thames Rd. near the Inadale Rd., when it left the highway. The vehicle entered the east ditch, struck a plastic culvert, and then went airborne into the corn field.
Following an investigation, officers discovered that the truck had been reported stolen, and upon inspection of the vehicle, a quantity of controlled substances were seized.
Michael Vail, 30, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. After being discharged, he was arrested and taken into police custody.
Connie Durward, 38, was also taking to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. She was discharged from hospital, arrested, and then let go on a promise to appear in court.
Both the man and woman face charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of cannabis marijuana under 30 g, and possession of methamphetamine.
