Those hoping to watch the London Knights battle for the Memorial Cup with other local fans will get the chance, thanks to the Western Fair District.
On Sunday, the Western Fair District will host a "hometown viewing party" at the Metroland Media Agriplex, where hockey fans will be able watch the Knights play in the Memorial Cup final championship game. The game will broadcast live from Red Deer, Alberta on two giant 10 ft by 18 ft, state-of-the-art video screens.
There will be prize giveaways during the game, and attendees are encouraged to come decked in team colours.
Doors open at 3:30pm, with puck drop set for just after 4:30pm.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door in support of those affected by the Fort McMurray, Alberta wildfire. London firefighters will be present to accept any donations.
The Knights advanced to the Memorial Cup final after beating the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 5-2 on Tuesday. London is set to take on the Red Deer Rebels or the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, who will meet in Friday's semi-final.
