Two men are charged after a London police officer was assaulted during an early-morning firearm investigation.
Police were called to the area of Richmond St. and Kent St. around 2:30am Saturday. There they found a man who they believed was carrying a handgun. The man ran from police and officers set up a perimeter to search for him.
During the investigation police say another man assaulted an officer while trying to get into the secured area.
Caleb Greenhow, 20, was arrested and is charged with assaulting a peace officer.
Around 3:15am, police found a handgun in a Kent St. parking lot. They arrested a suspect on Mount Pleasant Ave. a few hours later.
Jared Pineda, 19, of London is charged with the following offences:
-Failing to comply with recognizance -Two counts of breaching of probation -Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm -Possession of firearm and knowing its possession is unauthorized -Carrying a concealed weapon
