Fuel Theft Suspect Surrenders

A man wanted in half a dozen gas thefts has turned himself into police.

London police released a photo of a suspect Tuesday after a man was caught on camera Sunday at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar at 1975 Dundas St. E. Police say a man fueled up his truck then took off without paying.

It was the sixth gas-and-dash theft since August that police believe was committed by the same person.

Constable Sandasha Bough says a man surrendered to police Tuesday night.

"He turned himself in after he was informed that the public had identified him through social media," says Bough.

He is now charged with six counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of stolen property.

Police are thanking the public for all of the tips they received in connection with the thefts.
