A head-on crash north of London has injured three people, one critically.
Middlesex OPP say a car was heading north on Adelaide St., just north of Medway Rd. around 8:30am Monday when it tried to pass another vehicle, lost control and collided head-on with a southbound Jeep SUV.
The driver of the car, a 23-year-old London man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition. The 50-year-old Middlesex Centre man behind the wheel of the Jeep and his 17-year-old male passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.
OPP Sgt. Dave Rektor says the road was snow covered and slippery at the time of the crash.
"This crash would appear to be 100% preventable," says Rektor. "When you see snow, you have to go slow. It's been our message all winter long and now into the spring. There is no magic to driving in bad conditions, just drive slow."
Adelaide St. between Eight Mile Rd. and Medway Rd. was closed for six hours as officers investigated the crash. It was re-opened around 2:30pm.
