Spits Hammer Knights 8-3 (VIDEO)

Bradley Latour led the Windsor Spitfires to an 8-3 victory over the London Knights on Saturday.

After no scoring in the first period, Windsor scored to take a big 4-0 lead in the second. London made it on the board in the third scoring three goals, but the Spitfires were able to dominate with four more goals of their own before the end of the game.

Latour was the top scorer for Windsor with a hat-trick, while Logan Stanley had two goals. Hayden McCool, Logan Brown, and Mikhail Sergachev had one each.

Chris Martenet, Max Jones and Mitchell Marner scored the three goals for London.

Saturday also marked the night the Spitfires honoured former captain Ryan Ellis with a jersey retirement ceremony. Team President Bob Boughner remembers fondly what he meant for the team.

"Ellis changed the whole dynamic of our organization. Watching what he did at every level, all the international championships he won, he made people around him better."

The Spitfires are back on the ice on Sunday to take on the Sarnia Sting at 1pm. And on Thursday, the Knights take on the Niagara IceDogs at 7pm.
