Lightning Down Miracles 135-130

The London Lightning extended their win streak to eight games on Saturday with a 135-130 win over the Moncton Miracles.

The Lightning started off to a slow start but managed to take a 35-32 lead in the first quarter.  Moncton surged upwards to take a three point lead at halftime, but fell behind with a four point deficit in the third.  London kept ahead in the final frame with Nick Okorie hitting a three pointer with less that ten seconds left, putting the Lightning ahead by five points.

Okorie led London with 33 points, while Stephen Maxwell had 24 points and 11 rebounds.

The Lightning will take on the Island Storm next on Sunday at 2pm.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
