Police Investigating Two Armed Robberies

Police in Tillsonburg and Woodstock are investigating following two separate armed robbery incidents.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday shortly after 9:20pm, a man entered the Around the Corner Variety store on Bidwell St. in Tillsonburg, and threatened the store employee with a handgun. The man demanded cash but the female employee fled the store. The suspect also left and was last seen running south on Bidwell St.

Nothing was taken during the robbery and the employee was not injured.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, in his early 20's, 5'6"-5'8" tall, with a slim to medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, a red/black bandanna over his face, black gloves, blue jeans and dark shoes.

Later on Friday night, the police responded to another robbery, this time at a Tim Horton's in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Service says at around 10:57pm, a man confronted an employee outside of the coffee shop at 14 Mill St., pointed a black handgun, and forced the employee back into the Tim Hortons. Once inside, the man demanded money and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen walking south-west from the business.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The male suspect is described as having a larger build, around 6'3" tall, wearing a black ski mask, a bulky black hooded winter jacket, black gloves and tan/darker coloured pants.  The male
