A 68-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Norfolk County.
The Ontario Provincial Police says on Thursday around 2pm, the woman was walking west on the sidewalk along South Dr. in Simcoe when she was struck by a pickup truck being that was reversing out of driveway.
The woman suffered life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the pickup truck, an 83-year-old man from Norfolk County, was not injured.
Police say South Dr. between John St. and Kent St. S will be closed until around 10pm while officers are at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
