Cooler Temperatures On The Way

It's back to reality for Londoners who have been enjoying double-digit temperatures for much of November.

Cold air will be arriving in Southern Ontario late Thursday or early Friday, knocking temperatures down from the above seasonal highs we've seen in recent days.

The cooler conditions come as a high pressure system that has been anchored in the American southeast, pushing warm air across the border, begins to break down.

"It looks as though this is going to be it for high temperatures well into the double-digits," says Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson. "We may still have some milder than normal conditions in late November or perhaps into the month of December but not to the level that we have been experiencing over the last little while."

Above seasonal temperatures dominated the first half of November overall. But Environment Canada is now predicting London could get its first taste of winter in the coming days.

"We are going to see a storm system move through on Saturday that could give us some snowfall in and around the London-area. At this time it looks like temperatures are going to be flirting with the freezing mark." says Coulson. "Wake-up temperature on Saturday morning will be about minus two with a daytime high of plus two. So we could be seeing something in the way of shower and flurry activity on Saturday. Then there is a possibility of some lingering flurries on Sunday."

The good news is it is doubtful there will be any major accumulation but it will be a taste of traditional fall-like weather that is normal for this time of year.
