Whether it's an article or clothing, shoes, jewellery or even a belt, Londoners are being asked to wear purple on Friday.
Wear Purple Day is part of the London Abused Women's Centre's "Shine the Light on Woman Abuse" campaign.
More than 30 buildings in the city mark the occasion by going purple, including London City Hall and the Middlesex London Health Unit building on King St.
"Women who come through our doors see how the community responds to this campaign , they are very interested in the events we have going on, they find it very supportive," says Christine Jones, special events coordinator of the London Abused Women's Centre. "It does send victims a message that they are not alone in their fight to live a life free of violence and abuse."
An information and merchandise booth will be set-up on the first and second levels of Budweiser Gardens for Purple Night with the London Knights. Doors open at 6:30pm. The game starts at 7:30pm.
As part of the campaign, those who choose to sport purple throughout the month of November can email their pictures to [email protected] for the "Turn it Purple" picture contest.
The centre has adopted the colour purple as it's a symbol of courage, survival, and honour.
