The London Humane Society will be looking for homes for seven kittens that were left in taped-up boxes near a Goodwill donation bin in the northeast end.
The Humane Society says a Good Samaritan brought the kittens to their facility Thursday morning after finding them in two boxes near a donation bin at Huron St. and Highbury Ave.
Executive Director of the Humane Society Judy Foster admits it's disappointing.
"We're happy that the kittens ended up in a short amount of time so they weren't exposed to extreme heat or bad weather, or worse, they get out of the box and lose their lives on the road, " says Foster. "But we have to recognize that there a lot of people suffering in this community and they are desperate. People do these things because they don't have options."
Foster says if someone has kittens they can't care for, they can call the humane society and arrangements can be made to have them picked up and looked after until they are old enough to be adopted.
She estimates the kittens are about four weeks old and they appear to be in good health. She says they will be available for adoption in a few weeks.
