The final long weekend of the summer is going to be sweltering in the London area.
Environment Canada has put a heat warning in effect for the region. Forecasters say daytime high temperatures will stay around 30C right through Monday, with humidex values in the 40C range on Sunday and Monday.
Tuesday, the first day of school, is also expected to be very humid, with the high temperature expected to be in a high 20's.
Environment Canada says the extreme heat can be particularly hard on older adults, infants and young children, people with chronic illnesses such as breathing difficulties and heart conditions, people who work in the heat, people who exercise in the heat, people without access to air conditioning, and homeless people.
It recommends drinking plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
