Thanks to the efforts of an off-duty police officer, two London men are facing charges in relation to a graffiti vandalism investigation
The London Police Service says on July 21, the off-duty officer allegedly saw two men spray painting a support pillar of a bridge, located between King St. and Becher St. The officer arrested the two men, whose tags resembled ones previously seen on a number of private and public owned properties.
Police say the arrests have solved a three-month joint investigation with the City of London Bylaw Enforcement into spray paint vandalism in London.
On Thursday, officers executed search warrants at a King St. residence and one of Grangeover Ave. where more more evidence was gathered in relation to the investigation. Four marijuana plants, 3.9 g of marijuana bud and 1.6 g of methamphetamine were also seized during the search of the homes. The estimated value of the drugs is over $4,200.
As a result, 19-year-olds Daniel Pennell and Evan Shannon, of London, have bee charged two counts of mischief under $5,000. Pennell has also been charged with cultivation of marijuana and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Both men have been released from custody with a future court date.
