A suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old in London has turned himself in to police.
The London Police Service says on Friday just before 8pm, Mohamed Ibrahim Sail, 24, of Calgary surrendered himself to police.
Earlier this week, a Canada-wide warrant was issued Sail's arrest for second degree murder in the death of Jeremy Cook.
Cook was gunned down near Highbury Ave. and Huron St. during the early morning hours of June 14. He was trying to track a lost cell phone when he encountered a car with three men inside. Cook grabbed onto the driver’s side door of the car when the man driving the car tried to get away. It was then that he was shot and killed.
Police initially issued an arrest warrant for Muhab Sultan, 23, of Calgary. His body has since been pulled from the Rideau River in Ottawa following a police chase. Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is probing the circumstances surrounding his death.
Investigators say a third man who was seen leaving the area prior to the shooting has been identified, but will not cooperate with police.
