Both winners of the grand prizes in this spring's Dream Lottery are from out of town.
A couple from Miller Lake won the grand prize on Thursday morning.
Fred and Jean Van Tooren, both in their 80s, will be given their choice of $1-million in cash or four different luxury homes. This year, the lottery offered either a home in London, a condo in the city, a home in Grand Bend or a downtown Toronto condo in the Fort York District.
The final draw was made at the Sumac Way dream home.
The 50/50 winner was Trudy Smith of Toronto who wins half of the $835,010 jackpot.
President and CEO of the St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation made the draw and says year after year, it is always her favourite day.
"We awarded close to half-a-million dollars in the 50/50 this year...Let me tell you, it never gets old. I still have goosebumps and I'm still shaking," she tells BlackburnNews.com. "To know that you've changed someone's life in that way is really incredible."
All money raised through Dream Lottery ticket sales goes towards supporting local health care. So far, the Dream Lottery has raised over $26-million for the three local hospital foundations.
