The London-St. Thomas unemployment rate, released by Statistics Canada on Friday morning, shows a drop of four basis points compared to the month prior.
April 2015 had a jobless rate of 6.5%, down from 6.9% in March.
The local rate is now lower than the national rate of unemployment, which stayed steady at 6.8%. Even though the national economy lost 19,700 jobs, Stats-Can said it wasn't enough to alter the rate.
